Halo infinite update bug size

So yesterday i played halo and now it got an update . the update is as big as the game (exact size) and it seems like i need to download the game again (the update was 2 or 3 gig i think )

Any update to this, only happens in halo infinite, tried many other games and no issue? has anyone reported this issue as a halo infinite bug or do we think its a bug with headset firmware, could it be to do with dolby atmos?

Multiplayer and Campaign combined will be 48.42GB...that is confirmed by Halo Support themselves in a Twitter post yesterday:

It is surprising though...I was expecting a 100GB+ install size, even before they mentioned that the map will be bigger than H4 and H5 combined!

UPDATE: OK after further research this looks to be a game breaking save file corruption bug and there is currently no way to fix it. 343 are said to be aware of the bug for over 2 weeks now but have not yet released an update to resolve the issue. You have the create a new save starting over from the beginning of the game, losing all progress made up to that point.

With all the bugs being reported by other gamers and missing features such as campaign co-op and mission replays I am personally done with Halo Infinite as it is quite clearly in a unfinished state. I have already lost over 18 hours of game play because of my game save becoming corrupted and not going to spend any more time with Halo Infinite as there is a possibility of it happen again at any point.

I am playing on XBOX only and was not prompted to resign in at any point prior to this bug happening as others have reported.

For anybody else that suffers from microsoft and 343 ****, here is the solution:

Here’s how to fix the Halo Infinite Xbox Gaming Services bug:

Press “Windows Key” + “I” simultaneously on your keyboard
Select the ‘Apps’ section from the menu selection
Find Halo Infinite in the app list
Left-click on Halo Infinite to reveal ‘Advanced Options’
Find the ‘Reset’ button and left-click on it
Open the Xbox app and reinstall Halo Infinite

Don’t worry about actually re-installing / re-downloading the game, as it should be ready to launch in a few moments.
