    Halo Infinite redirects to Gaming Services store page


    Hi,

    I recently installed Halo Infinite and played a few games yesterday and this morning. Now, when I launch the game (whether from the Xbox App, or the desktop shortcut, or the Start Menu) it opens the Microsoft Store page for Gaming Servies without any error code or explanation whatsoever.

    I've read that some other people have experienced this problem with other games and I tried everything to fix it (repair/reset/reinstall Gaming Services and the Xbox App, deleting the registry keys for Gaming Services, and resetting the Microsoft Store through PowerShell). All in vain.

    By the way, this doesn't happen with other Microsoft Store apps like Forza Horizon 4. It's super frustrating as I was looking forward to playing more of this game.

    Does anyone know more about this issue or could help fix it?

    I am having the same issue, I literally cannot play Halo Infinite because I get redirected to the gaming services store page. I've tried everything, even doing an in-place upgrade, I just don't know what to do. Is there ANY other fix for this? I find it really stupid that I can't play games when I'm paying for xbox game pass ultimate.

    I did manage to get halo infinite campaign installed but now whenever i try to open halo infinite it opens up the Microsoft Store's Gaming Services page instead. I am on game pass on PC. Ive tried reinstalling the xbox app but it still doesnt work.

    Hi there Andocretuse welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Right click start -> run -> type "services.msc"

    "Gamingservices" should be on automatic and running (there are 2 of them)

    If that doesn't work, go to start - settings - apps - apps&features

    then look for gaming services, click on advanced options and try to repair or reset it. you can also do the same for Windows store and Halo itself.

    I believe I have found a solution that works! After scouring the internet I found someone who recommended I do this and it worked!

    Open Registry Editor

    Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CurrentControlSet -> Services

    Remove the GamingServices and GamingServices.Net

    Restart Computer

    Go to your Windows Store -> 3-dot-menu -> Downloads and Updates -> Check updates

    After doing that it worked!
