    Halo Infinite Gamer Tag...


    So I have to log into Microsoft to get into Halo Infinite (Im on PC).. I have these numbers at the end of my gamer tag and I thought I (along with everyone else) would be forced to keep these numbers at the end of my gamer tag(Kinda like COD or Discord). After getting into the game some people do not have the numbers at the end of their name.. How? I tried to change my gamer tag and it says I have the username I would like (without the numbers) but it still shows the numbers in game. I cant change my name its says I have the name I would like but the numbers are still there... Please help <3

    New Xbox players or those who want to change their gamertag can claim one of their choice, up to 12 characters. If a gamertag is already taken, a suffix with numbers is attached to differentiate you from other people with the same gamertag. Suffixes are subtle so that the focus is on the name you chose, but they are always shown.

    Thanks for the information. Does this mean Halo infinite doesn't support newer gamer tags? That doesn't seem right. I could boot up my 360, but would I be able to even change it to the same gamer tag? This seems like such a weird issue.

    I’ve had the same gamer tag on PSN for years bud. I’m only on Xbox for halo. Now that I lost my og gamer tag I think I’m done

    Fed up with gamertags and the lack of obtaining them.

    There is literally an infinite amount of possible gamertags you can pick, why should someone else have their tag taken off them just for you??

    I don`t understand the halo reference either.
