Halo Collection - 20GB Day One Patch

Halo: The Master Chief Collection has 20GB day one patch to unlock multiplayer

This is a Joke, right?

Not every one have a fast Internet or a Flatrate. For example here in Germany there are many Volume Tariffs with only 5GB/month or Areas with a really slow Internet Connection that need Days to download such a big Patch.

So why no second single Layer BD? To save Money? Than made the Price a bit higher, the Halo Collection is already a really good offer and no one wouldn't buy it only because of a 2-3€ higher Price. But such a 20GB Patch is a much more good Reason not to
buy it for many Players.

I really hope that many Players don't like this decision from 343 Industries / Microsoft and let it know that.

There is no reason for this, they should have done it like they did with Halo 4 put the Multiplayer on the Second Disc! So people like me who play Halo only for the Campaigns can save this 20GB Update and still be Online with the Xbox and talk or chat with
Friends. And people with slower internet connections or Volume based Contracts dont need to wait for days to play!

 

Isn't it great? Microsoft is as clueless as usual. I love the way they dodge the issue of including the content on a second disc. They think people are so stupid that their going to forget that stuff like Forza 4, and Halo 4 both had second disc with content
on them that wouldn't fit on 1 disc. No disc swapping was ever involved. This is nothing more but a poor excuse to try and save a few cents by including the content on a second disc. It does nothing more then hassle the customer who purchased a physical copy
to avoid huge downloads. They also seem to think people have unlimited bandwidth to spare too. Its a total slap in the face. Only a complete idiot would buy their reasoning behind this.

 

sigh... more complaints from people who don't want to spend the extra money to get better internet connections...

 

I agree brain! Get better internet folks! I do wish however that we can download the patch now!

 

Don't be so ignorant, guys. Not everybody lives in an area where they have good internet options.

 

Going forward into this gen games are going to require more and more bandwidth whether you like it or not.

 

^ That is likely true. But still, we don't have to be so dickish and ignorant about things. It's not so easy for some people to just "get better internet". Personally, I have no problem. I have no monthly cap and I downloaded the 45GB of MCC in under 2 hours,
but I'm not so foolish to think everybody has that option. I understand why they would be frustrated and I hope something gets worked out for them, because we're all Halo fans here, we all should be able to play this.

 

we should see some improvements in speed in coming months. I've already seen it in my area since Comcast now has to compete with centurylink and soon enough google will be bringing their service around here too...

went from 50Mb to 100 for 5 more dollars a month.

and yes its pretty damned expensive for internet around here but i'm seriously never gonna complain because its worth it to have fewer dropped games while i'm playing

 

Starting next year AT&T in my are will have giga speed. 300mbps hear I come.

 

I love that solution...."Get better Internet". Ever think that not everyone can afford better internet? I didn't think so. How about the fact better internet may not be available in a persons location? Believe it or not, cost, unlimited bandwidth and speed
are not an option for everyone.

 

well this looks like something i will go pick up, put updating, and come back to in a few hours. huge patch though. very excited for this since destiny was such a let down.

 

yes its true that not everyone has the option to get better internet in their internet.... which sucks
