Halo 5 collectors edition disc swap doesn't work

Hi! Im from Germany and i bought the Halo 5 Collectors Edition. I want to swap the download code for a disc. I had several chats with the support, and they always told me they can only do the swap when i have an Xbox One serial number. Problem: i dont
have an Xbox One yet. Its planned for christmas. Please help me quick!! There are just 11 days left for the disc swapping campaign.

Halo 5 Physical Copy

Just to clarify. If the disc comes from this:

Then you can get request for a Disc Swap. If you scroll down to the bottom of that link. It will give you information about the disc swap. But if the digital copy came from the console like this:

www.microsoftstore.com/.../productID.319985900

Then it is not eligible for Disc swap.

Fyi the reason they are doing this is because you got a prepaid to predownload it with the collectors edition rather then a disk

The limited edition is a disk copy vs the collectors was a code with physical items like the guardian etc

That is odd indeed. According to the support page a console serial number is not one of the requirements for doing the swap.

I would try contacting them again and point out the support page does not list that as a requirement.

 

Guess what, I am having the same issue. I have spent over 2 HOURS on with Microsoft. One hour on text chat (before they even said they required the console number) and when I told them this is a gift they said sorry have to have the console number.

On another hour with phone support working on the issue with no resolution.

Buyer beware. They are trying to force you to lock your game discs. They are basically trying to make the discs worthless. And we get this treatment after spending 250 bucks on a cheaply built collector's edition. Not only that but they ask for the
code up front which if scratched off makes the game non-refundable. Microsoft you are a joke.

 

Except the game isnt refundable anyways

You forget santiago once you open the package it cant be returned

The disk swap is a curteousy

My guess they are linking it to the console sif it is one disk per customer

 

Even with the card not scratched mo store will take open packages except for gamestop but there is even conditions to that

All items has to be returned etc

So you will lose out on thr collectors items

 

Ngochphi the disc swap is not a courtesy it is an advertised promise from Microsoft that they are not honoring per their written requirements. There's no grey area here, it's in writing and it's public, it's a legally binding agreement. If they were
sued they would lose, end of story.

Now obviously no one is going to sue them so what they lose, in this case, is PR and customer satisfaction. Obviously this isn't important to them so that's it.

Just wanted to drop by and confirm that currently for the disc exchange program you'll need to register your Console over on the service website. If you were gifted the game, I would recommend the person who had gifted you the game to set up the disc replacement
for you.

Really sorry to hear about the frustrations with this, but this is currently the only option.
