    Halo 3 won't start, unknown file error?


    It almost boots up when I run it, but as soon as it reaches the initial load screen it shuts down and shows this message:

    I never purchased Halo 1, only Halo 3? I did a flight for Halo 3 as well and it worked great, I am unsure why the actual game will not work. I have tried verifying the game files through steam and uninstalling/reinstalling, nothing works.

    Hi,

    The fixes I've seen for this was to find the file Steam is complaining about, delete it (don't send it to the recycle bin). Then, via the Steam app,

    verify your game integrity    . Then try launching the game again.

    I'm a PC gamer and a Steam user by the way.

    I received the same error code, but when I type it into the error code roster, it claims its and unknown error code.

    I have overwatch on disc and It won't start, the rest of the games I have are downloaded and those won't start up either.
