Half the screen is dim on my xbox

Check the cables, make sure all cables are properly connected to your Xbox and TV. If you're using an HDMI cable, try swapping it out for a different one to see if that resolves the issue.

Check the settings, check your TV or monitor settings to see if there are any options that could be causing the issue. Look for options like "Picture Mode" or "Display Mode" and try changing them to see if that helps.

Reset your Xbox, try resetting your Xbox by holding down the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it turns off. Then, unplug the power cord and wait a few minutes before plugging it back in and turning it back on.

Check for updates, make sure your Xbox is up to date with the latest software updates. You can check for updates by going to "Settings" > "System" > "Updates & downloads."

My Xbox dims now too. Hint to Microsoft: videos don't screen burn, and my TV doesn't worry about screen burn-in. There's literally NO NEED for a friggin' screen saver on a console. Let *me* worry about *my* TV, and either remove the dim completely or add
a toggle to turn it off.

My Xbox One dimmed the screen last night, and then turned itself off after an hour of being dimmed. I had it sitting on the Ryse pause menu, and was out of the room. I don't think the screen dims while you're in sight of the Kinect, because I noticed if
I left the room for 15-20 minutes and walked back in, the screen would brighten back up.

I mean when the screen dims when it goes into idle. When i watch a movie or tv the screen dims

I am having a similar issue on my Xbox One S connected directly to my Samsung JS8500 tv. When I open the netflix app the screen becomes very dim and the screen doesn't return to normal until the app is quit. HDR content looks great using the Netflix app
on my TV by the way, not dim at all.
