I also doubt it's a bug. My house is built half on snow & half on grass so it will be raining on one side and, at the same time, snowing on the other. It's just Minecraft logic.

I enjoy displaying my consoles, but it will be nice to not have to switch between consoles and controllers if I want to play a last-gen game. I can still see myself playing Xbox One games for a while after the Series X comes out so it will certainly be
more convenient. One issue I could see with it though, is hard drive space. It may just be easier to leave the Xbox One games installed on the original console so I have more room for new games on the Series X.

I have tested the above and had no luck. The closet I get is I connect both PC and Xbox Series X to the same WIFI (with both network cables unplugged) and I can see the XBOX as a wireless display to cast my PC. however, it attempts to connect, and the screen blinks and immediately says disconnected.

I have now been able to connect to the XBOX with my laptop, but still not able to connect through my PC.

My PC is showing as a wireless display capable device in the Drivers command "Wireless Display Supported: Yes (Graphics Driver: Yes, Wi-Fi Driver: Yes)"

I have further uninstalled Norton antivirus from my PC and reverted to windows antivirus.

surely I cannot be the only one with this issue?

While 4k gaming is the major benefit of the Xbox One X, I believe you will still see some performance benefits when using the Xbox One X with a 1080p display.

Other then a lot of snow or not, not really. One is mostly snow, one is half snow and one is very little snow. Yeah and one has Giants right around the corner.
