Hacker disconnecting my internet.

Some hacker (or modder) got angry at my because I beat him in a game and he decided to disconnect my entire internet for half an hour through Xbox Live. I've seen this happen to others before but today I was victim to it.

Last time I complained about hackers and modders on the Xbox Live service Microsoft decided to ban me. As stupid as it sounds I think I got banned instead of the hackers because I gave out the offenders gamer tags, which might be against the rules.

What can be done about this? Don't tell me to file a complaint because I already do. What can I do to actually stop this? I'm pretty sure that this is not only against Microsoft's Terms and Conditions but also against the law.

Someone booted me offline

I found out what happened, the hack scrambles your Xbox ip address and and other stuff so I fixed it by disconnecting my Xbox from my Internet and restarting my modem and it started to work again

Xbox keeps disconnecting and reconnecting

My xbox keep on disconnecting from my internet, then reconnecting and then disconnecting all while being lan line connected. What is going on?

Sorry about your problem there. This isn't a hack or indeed a mod, this is known as a DOS attack, and it's actually carried out outside of the Xbox Live network. Basically, the other player was using web snooping tools to find
your IP address using a computer. Your IP address is set of unique numbers set up by your service provider to get your Xbox, and all your other devices in your home, connected to the Internet.

The usual way this happens is if the other player gets you to play with them in either via a 1 vs 1 game, or in an Xbox party, where only you and them are in the party. Once they have your IP address details, they can potentially bombard your connection
with communication requests, knocking your connection offline. This is known as DOS (denial of service) attack. Information about this can be found

Not only are DOS and DDOS attacks against the Xbox Live ToS, they are also illegal and the attacker can be prosecuted under the law. To get this investigated, you'll need to contact your Internet service provider.

Support is unable to do anything about this. What you have to do is use the dashboard reporting tool to report the gamertag that you believe is doing this. One of the PET members will review it and take the appropriate steps.

We did not have to replace it we simply had to change the ip address and completely restart the router, we have never ever had problems like this before especially with the internet since the hacker got into the system. I tried all the basic things I have
been doing it for 6 years now usually it works but it doesn't this time, and there is no internet problems, wifi is working great on my phone and my laptop is working fine to, when I test the xbox live connection everything is connected it says but I get disconnected
when I play online.
