[GUIDE] So You've Had an Enforcement Action

Imagine this: you're playing your favorite game on the Xbox One or 360 and BAM!!! all of a sudden you're knocked offline and get a notice that you've been banned or suspended from Live or communications. What do you do now?

First let's start with some things that you cannot do.

- You cannot get answers or help from anyone on the forums. Only the PET can answer your questions and they no longer use the forums at xbox.com

- Phone support cannot help with enforcement actions

- Neither Ambassadors via volunteer chat or @xboxsupport on Twitter can help with enforcements

Here are things that you can do.

- Log in to http://enforcement.xbox.com/ and click the hammer icon. There you can see the reason and duration of your action.

- While there you can open a case review with the PET regarding the review. Take your time and be sure of the questions asked while submitting. If you fail the first part of the case review you'll need to wait 24 hours to resubmit.

- A case review is only available if the enforcement is longer than 24 hours or you are over 18 or the age of majority in your country

- If you are underage then your parent account will need to file the case review on your behalf

- It can take up to 48 hours for the PET to respond to a case review so please be patient

- The PET's decision is final. If they decide to uphold the action you'll need to wait it out.

- If your account has been permanently banned (ie. till the year 9999) you will lose access to all content purchased on that account.

- No games can be transferred to another account

- Any currency on that account is lost

- All memberships including Gold, EA Access, Xbox Games Pass and others.

- Once banned that account cannot connect to Live again. You would need to set your console Offline via settings in order to play on it.

Avoid Me Status

This is an annoying little thing that's not really an enforcement action against your account so the PET cannot help with it.

- If you are in an avoid me state you cannot play normally with others but all is not lost

- While in an Avoid me state there are some games you can continue to play with others in an avoid me state to help bring your reputation back up. They are:

- World of Tanks

- DC Universe Online

- Battlefield 1

- Battlefield 4

- Halo Master Chief Collection

- If your friends are playing online they can invite you to their lobbies

- So long as you play well others will upvote you and you should be back in the green in no time.

Console Bans

- Console bans are the final action of the PET and are only done if the case is absolute. You can read more about console bans and how they are applied here Xbox Enforcement | How Do I

- Some of the reasons that consoles can be banned are:

- Xbox console tampering, such as physically opening an Xbox console and modifying it to play illegitimate or unauthorized software

- Online fraud, such as phishing, account theft, or other attempts to defraud Microsoft or other players

- Repeated egregious violations of the Microsoft Services Agreement that establish a clear pattern of nefarious activity

- A console ban is permanent and cannot be reversed. If your device has been banned and your gamertag still works you can purchase a new console and continue playing with that account.

- There is no case review with console bans.

Please understand that the PET (Policy Enforcement Team) are in sole charge of the enforcement system. People on the forums or in support cannot answer as to why an enforcement was laid nor can they remove an enforcement once it's started. That ability
lies only with the PET.

If you find others that are blatantly cheating or using hacks then please be sure to report them via the dashboard reporting tools. You would need to go to the gamertag's bio and select File Complaint then follow the instructions provided. On the Xbox
One you are able to leave a brief message as to why you're reporting them.

Contrary to belief the PET do investigate every claim made. However, it can take some time for the PET to investigate a claim as they do get thousands of report per day.

If a complaint is verified by the PET you are not notified of their decision against that account. You may receive a message via your Live message center saying thank you for making Xbox Live a safer place.

Please do not spam reports against a gamertag. Each report you send against a specific tag bumps it back to the bottom of the list and it will take longer for the PET to get to it.

Do not ask your friends or others to report a tag on your behalf. The PET can see if an account has actually had contact with a gamertag and will take those who have had contact more seriously than those who have not.

Xbox insider program

It means you've had some sort of enforcement action on your account in the past 12 months.

 

I cant get on the ambassador page

If you've had enforcement action then you would of been removed from the ambassador program which is why you can't access the ambassador page.

You can not be an xbox ambassador if you have had any enforcement action on your account.
