    Guide Not Opening


    As stated above, the guide will not open. Here's what happens: I press the home/xbox button, the screen gets slightly darker (as if the quide was open,) I have to wait, the I get error code (0x8027025a). I don't know why this happens but
    need to know how to fix the problem. [Note: Earlier today the guide would open but nothing was shown in it (no recent games or anything) it still had other pages, like the friends section, however.] I can't record clips or take screenshots except, maybe, with
    my chatpad. I also can't long-press the home/xbox button to view achievments and the like.

    Xbox Guide Not Opening/ Freezing Console

    Since 2 weeks ago, I haven't been able to play my console. Whenever I press the guide button, it fades the screen and never opens the guide and the controller stops responding. Apps/Games don't open either, they only show the preview picture but never open
    and the controller stops responding. It is also worth noting that i am in the preview program with the new update. Please assist me since this has made my console completely useless!

    lol i had this same problem and to be honest i dnt to thank to look at my guitar hero guitar (cause i was having the same prob) it was my guitar i took the batterys out and it was fixed

    Hi Scooby Doo,

    I do have SmartGlass but I forgot to mention that when I was doing the above troubleshooting, I also put my iPhone and iPad into flight mode.

    Hey CraicPot. That can get pretty annoying. It does seem like you covered all your angles on the controllers. Do you have any smartphones in your house with an application called "XBOX SmartGlass?" With that application you are able to launch the XBOX guide
    from your phone. Other than that app, the controller is the only way I know of activating the guide. Have you tried a friends controller with your controllers off and batteries out?

    Hi there, Something I see you didn't mention,you have guitar hero in your played games list,do you have a guitar hero controller laying around somewhere that is constantly having the guide button pressed?

    That is interesting. Well you have done some pretty intense troubleshooting yourself. The next thing I would recommend is getting a hold of official XBOX support team. I will post this link and at the bottom of the page you will see a tab where you can select
    it for the Microsoft support team. Wait time it says is less than 1 minute.
