Guest profile option not showing on Xbox 360 (via emulation on Xbox One X)

I'm using an Xbox One X to play Xbox 360 games via emulation and i'm trying to sign in a guest so I can play Xbox 360 left 4 dead with split screen.

But, when I select sign in on the second controller for my guest the 'sign in as guest' option is not there as you can see from the included image.

I don't currently have Xbox live gold on my main '' account, so I wasn't sure if you needed Xbox gold to be able to sign in guests on Xbox 360 emulation?

I also tried to sign in a guest on Xbox 360 Halo 3, and although it gave me the option to select guest on the sign in screen, if I tried to sign in with it came up with an error message saying it's not a valid Xbox live account.

Does anybody know If I need Xbox gold, or could it be that Xbox 360 emulation doesn't support guests or could it be some other reason?

I can see that on the Xbox one interface, but this doesn't help with Xbox 360 emulation.

I think I figured it out myself. Although you can't seem to use a guest account, I downloaded my alt account Microsoft account and signed in with that (on Xbox 360 emulation) on my second controller and it worked. I was able to play left 4 dead versus
split screen.

I see, do you know of anywhere that has more details on the matter? If not I suppose I could just use my original Xbox 360 console.

I believe if you go to create new account, it should give you the option to create a guest, then just click add guest.

Hi GR412,

From speaking to some people, it seems that the emulation does not support guest accounts. You do not need a working Xbox live gold account to play offline whilst using emulation.
