GTA5 Online freezing during load up

My nephew plays GTA5 regularly online, and has done since Christmas. A few days ago, he was trying to go to GTA Online, and it just froze on the loading page. It allowed him to go into Story mode and play in that. First off we thought it may be a faulty
disc, so he tried my copy and still had the same issue. So we then thought maybe an internet connection issue.

So today he brought his 250gb Xbox 360 to my house, we tried it again with first a wireless and then a wired connection, and still the same. I tried my own copy of GTA5 with my account on my old white 360, and it worked fine on there. I copied over his
profile via usb stick onto my xbox and it froze as usual, but then tried my profile and it worked.

So I put his profile back on his xbox, and copied my profile onto his... his still froze, but mine worked on his xbox.... therefore, seeming to point to a problem with his profile?

I'd tried cleaning the cache, and even changing the DNS settings to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (on one of the youtube clips), all to no avail.

Then, removed all save files, DLCs etc from the hard drive and put them on the USB, removed the USB and tried again. It took the game back to the start, but after downloading the required compatibility packs to allow you to go online, it still didn't work.



Final thing... deleted the downloaded disc stuff, so nothing at all now GTA5 related on the HDD. I then reinstalled from the discs (and downloaded those compatible packs)... and still it freezes on GTA Online Loading...



Is there anything else I can try? His profile is about 23mb, but i'm not sure if there's anything I can do to change anything in there?



At the moment he's very unhappy (i'm not that happy having wasted 6 hours trying to get the thing to work!), and talking about having to look at getting another XBL account - although i'm not even sure if that's a guarantee that it would work...



Any help or advice appreciated! Theres' no way anyone else could've put some kind of online block on him on GTA, is there? For clarity, XBL has been working fine otherwise, and he was able to play on all other online games, apparently...

Bug reporting thread for latest Fulgore/Lobby patch

KI is constantly freezing during online matches. Each time I have to reboot KI and sometimes I can't even restart it. I just get stuck in a black void. The game won't load.

 

HOW TO FIX THE FREEZING GLITCH

To anyone still experiencing this issue, I just finished the game on co-op on Xbox 360. The trick to avoiding the second player freezing is to join the game while the host is in a dead zone. When you exit the dead zone, all the players in the party then get synced up during the loading screen. After that no more freezing. Have fun smashing heads....

 

Due to the fact that all other online games work for his XBL profile, I'm led to believe that his GTA online profile became corrupted. However, there is a sliver of hope because there is also another possibility of what might have caused this, and Rockstar
is currently investigating. (It's only been 4 days since Rockstar looked into it so stay strong)
