GTA V Install taking days (Literally)

So, I have bought and downloaded GTA V from the Xbox live marketplace, on a 16GB USB stick, which had about 14GB of space left. When I bought the game, they said it would only consume 7.3GB, so I figured it would fit. Now that I set the game to run, it gives
me the loading screen, and in the bottom right corner, it says "Downloading". Well, this has now been going on for three days straight, and my Xbox is starting to get very hot... Is it supposed to take so long? I did a little research, and found out that the
game would install another 8GB, me having only 6,7GB left. But if that is so, shouldn't it tell me so before trying to install it for three days straight? Help is appreciated.

Similar problem for me. I bought the game from the marketplace and downloaded it about a month ago. I am now getting around to playing it and it's trying to download install packs for hours now. I've read how others are having the same issue and the only
response I really see is "it depends on your internet speed". Well I have Optimum cable internet with the extra boost ad-on. I've not had any issues with my internet in the past year so why is this game basically crippling my ability to use my xbox 360 for
an entire day now?

Hi there vingmx, I had same thing while I was buying game on disc.

Game size is about ~14.5gb (I can be wrong) While GTA starts downloading it will have pop-up message that there is no much of available space for game. (no matter is this 1st disc content that downloading from game or disc 2 content that downloading in downloading
section of Xbox Guide). Or you have bug. Try to quit from game and delete amount of storage that game need (or use usal USB 2.0 drive to download there) to download the rest of content.Game usually downloads from Games on Demand about 2-3 hours. It demands
on your internet speed.

Ok. Reformatted the hard drive, and it's still quick to log in. I originally only had GTA V installed on the 120 GB hard drive, so instead of installing that, I installed both discs of Mass Effect 2 (which takes up more space than GTA V), and I had no
issues with logging in. I'm now reinstalling GTA V to see if the issue comes back. If GTA V is the culprit, I'll switch to their help forums.

the problem isnt the game, it's when i download the gta v packs with it. (the packs are basically the mandatory disc install with regular gta v)
