    The code you are trying to redeem might be for the PC version or the Steam version of the game. Try redeeming it on steam or on the rockstar social website.

    That code is for a pc or steam version because xbox codes are longer then 16 characters

    More than likely will mean you have to go to Rockstars website and put the code in there somewhere.

    Could be GTA online related... Ubisoft had codes that were for Xbox that were uplay (for example).
