gta online not working

My xbox is set as home. My son has his own xbox and piggybacks using the same ultimate subscription.

I bought and downloaded GTA online using his console only and it keeps saying he needs a subscription to play.

I've restarted both consoles, unplugged and still nothing allows him to play

Trial codes do not change your account status to gold. They only give you access to some benefits of online multiplayer. They do not work with all games or all game modes.

Also, if or when I make this purchase, will my disc date save from online and transfer over?

You would need to set his console as your Home in order to share your Game Pass with him so he can play online.

I understand and I know how that feels. It's just that, based on the game's payability, it only supports Xbox Series X/S.
