GTA IV activation problem

Hi,

I'm having trouble with logging in Games for Windows Live in the game. It says "Can't sign in because you've exceeded the usage allowed by your product key. Please enter another product key".

I bought it from steam, does the key have a usage limit? I'm playing GTA4 with this xbox/GFWL account for last 6 years. Now it is not working anymore. I
already can activate my game on Rockstar Games Social Club and I can play the game. The problem is, I can't redeem the code on Microsoft Games for Windows Live system. So I can't save my progress on game and I can't play it online either.

Let's see if anyone else can help you, but if you're using the same account both in steam and gfwl,it should work.

Did you play before in the same computer or are you trying to use it in another one?

steams a different system of sorts must contact them or buy from Microsoft

I bought and installed it from steam. After game starts, it tries to redeem itself on GFWL and problem occurs.

Actually GTA IV doesn't matter where you buy it from. It need two activation. One of Rockstar Games Social Club activation. This is necessary for start the game. And GFWL/Xbox activation to save game progress and playing online. I could play with xbox
live online before buying this computer.
