GTA 5 Locked Out of Both Characters. Changed my Gamertag, and it still doesn't work.

Hi; I have been locked out of both characters on GTA 5, by a modder.

I have changed my gamertag, and it still doesn't work.

Is there any way to unlock this account, or do I need to open up a new xbox live account ?

Even if you change your Gamertag, you purchases and saves are still locked to your account. I could change my gamertag right now and I still have everything. It stays with the email address you signed up with, not gamertag.

Game corrupted?

Thanks for the info... I have already changed my accounts location to Germany and the location of my Xbox is still Germany. Doesn't work tho. The download was restarting itself a couple of times and then it said "Corrupted" again. I guess the game is still
locked despite the fact that my account now is a german one.

This sounds like an issue inside GTA V itself, so I suggest filing a
Support Ticket with Rockstar.

This sounds like an issue inside GTA V itself, so I suggest filing a
Support Ticket with Rockstar.

Even though this is the kind of support for Rockstar, the answer is simple.

First, go to GTA Online, go to Characters, and delete the one that is broke. Then, make a new character. That worked for me.

But, if the issue persists, you might have to clear your system cache by going to Storage, scrolling onto Hard Drive, and going onto storage settings, and pressing "Clear Cache." When prompted to confirm, click yes. Then start up GTA V again, and it should
ask you to download a new update. If THAT doesn't work, go to storage, go to wherever you installed your GTA 5, delete your GTA 5, then put your install disc back in. (Warning: if you bought GTA 5 on your XBOX, via the marketplace, do not delete it. Just clear
system cache.)

If that doesn't work, I'm afraid you will have to just wait for Rockstar to come out with a update fixing it.

I just changed my gamertag and the EA account says I still have it linked to my old gamertag. I haven't changed my Microsoft account at all only my gamertag. I can't get it back since to change your gamertag it has to be under 12 characters and my old gamertag is 14 characters.
