    Hello,

    So....

    I've just bought GTA 5 for my Xbox 360 on the Xbox Games Store. After downloading it (7,7 GB) I tried to start it and I got the error "Disc couldn't be read" I don't know how to fix it. I already tried installing it on another HDD but it still doesn't work.
    So I just formatted my HDD and started re-downloading GTA 5. Will let you guys know about the results. I have two questions.

    1. Can anyone please help me to fix this?

    2. If it still doesn't work can I get a refund?

    GTA 5 not reading

    Hi guys, recently I have been having a problem with my gta 5 discs not being able to be read on my xbox. My Xbox will read all other games, and the gta 5 was new with small minor scratches, it either says "open tray" or it registers the game, but when
    I go into the game, it comes up wi the unreadable disc pop up. Does anybody have a solution or any advice on this problem?

    start. try downloading the game again." "for more help, visit: www.xbox.com/support i've downloaded gta: sa and installed it to my harddrive. as soon as it was installed i pressed to play got an error. i've tried all the solutions i could find on this forum
    and i still can't play the game. has anyone an idea of what is going on?

    EDIT : It still doesn't work after formatting my HDD and re-ownloading it. At about 80% it started downloading incredibly fast, like 5% every second. Please help me. Can I get a refund?

    Call Support and ask.

    I know certain games require an official Xbox HDD in order to play the game (Destiny comes to mind). I'm not sure if GTA is like that. I'm also assuming you're trying to play the game off of an external HDD.

    Error code 0x82d40007

    I own GTA 5 on disc. The loading screen pops up showing my xbox is reading the disc correctly but its sortly changed onto that error code.

    actually, my issue is the same as yours, yours is just more in depth then mine my game started working ,after I deleted my play disc instali ,however it happened to me (the redownload error)in the middle of the game in an active multiplayer session both
    our play discs arnt being properly recognized mine partly works yours not at all, so im not TECHNICALLY hijacking anything.

    as to the erro itself, i checked rockstar support I saw no mention of issues like this so they don't know bout it yet or I looked in the wrong place, lets just wait I guess for an official post or something

    we both have the DLC pack and both are having issues with it my money is its on rockstars end though, GTA V has been plagued with code errors from launch

    this issue happened to me once with my fifa 14 disc. I recommended to clean the back of the disc with cloth. If the console doesnt read it then, i dont know whats wrong

    no idea,but I was on gta just now online <both disc 1 and 2 installed> ive had them installed sense launch and had no issues till all of a sudden I get a popup "the game could not be started please redownload and try again" ive reinstalled the disc,same
    error

    NOTE: tried it without disc 2 installed and it ran but as my xbox likes to destroy discs id rather not have it ruin my gta v so any ideas guys?

    EDIT 10 years goin on 11 this august with xbox ive never once had this error
