    GTA 5 disc unreadable error


    I just bought the game a few days ago. I installed it and played it then my system started to freeze and could not read any games the next day. Now my system cannot ready anything. What do I do?

    "Failed to authorize disc" ?

    So I got GTA 5, played it, and stopped for a while once I got Ghosts. During the holiday break, I decided to pop it back in, just for some good old times. Turns out, its unreadable. So I got my cousins copy of GTA 5 and installed it, thinking that that would
    allow me to play with an unreadable disc. But now when I play it, I get to the loading screen and a game error comes up saying "Failed to authorize disc" and if I acknowledge the error by clicking "Ok" it resets my Xbox. I really just want to play GTA, what
    should I do?

    Hello .... Im From India I bought gta 5 and installed it on my flashdrive of 16 gb it worked fine the first day but the second day i used to get and error everytime i put the game in saying unreconized / unreadable disc but when i used to restart it
    , it used to work ... then the 3rd day the error came and i restarted it , it did not work i tried many times still ... then i ordered a new gta 5 still the error came and it did not go and i clear cache i also reinstalled the game did everything the india
    people support told me ..... the cd has no stratches at all its a new game .... Now when i try it it either freezes in the loading or when i insert it it says unreconized / unreadable disc ..... All My other games are working fine including gta 5.. is it a
    problem with my console or Gta 5 Disc ? really need help and many others also facing this problem i think

    Sorry to hear you're been having issues with your GTA.

    Just to make sure that I completely understand what's happening:

    1. Your discs in your console with your hard drive in gives you a "disc unreadable error"
    2. Your discs in your console with your son's hard drive works fine
    3. Your discs in your son's console with his hard drive works fine

    It's possible that there is a disc drive failure in your console, but there are a few questions that will help us make doubly sure:

    • Do your discs in your son's console with your hard drive work?
    • Do other games beside GTA 5 give the disc unreadable error?
    • Have you tried removing all accessories (including hard drive) from your console and loading in the Play Disc?
      • I know this won't play but it will let us see if you still get the unreadable error without your HDD.

    Please let us know if I've understood correctly and the answer to those questions and we'll work from there.

    GTA 5 multiple unreadable disk

    Am having this problem as well.

    Installed Disc 1 perfectly, then it froze on disc 2. Seeming to render all my GTA 5 discs 'unreadable'. I have exchanged the game, to no avail.

    All my other games like halo, etc. play smoothly and without issue.

    is a SanDisk Cruzer Edge 16GB USB Flash Drive compatible with an xbox 360?

    Its not the flash drive, works fine in pc and i formated it and installed the game, run perfect for like 10 minutes then crash and the Error message "Disc is unreadable" appears , im shure is the disc NOT the usb, it is gta disc or xbox dvd drivers or player.
