GTA 4 complete edition backwards compatibility question

I'm planning on picking up an Xbox series X and wanted to know if GTA 4 complete edition was actually compatible or not. I read somewhere that the SKU being different might cause issues. So can I pick up the complete edition or do I have to get GTA4 vanilla and Episods from Liberty city separate? Thank you for any clarification that can be given.

Sidenote: I know that I could just get a digital version but I like owning a physical piece of media and don't want to have to buy the same games twice. Thanks again

unfortunately in this case, no matter what you will have to access the digital version because there is no Xbox one/series compatible version on the disc. It only acts as a key

All the different revisions of the discs are not in the database, though they have most of them

EVEN GTA 4 is Backward Compatible a sitting Now on Front OF MY SERIES S BLACK 1TB EDITION

and San Andreas and Liberty City Storys to why not GTA V ??

GTA 5 is not backwards compatible. You would need to purchase the Xbox One version in order to play it on the One. GTA 4 is the only GTA game that is compatible at the moment.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. As you can see by this link https://majornelson.com/blog/xbox-one-backward-compatibility/ GTA 5 is not on the BC list. It's GTA 4 that is compatible.

If you play on Xbox One, the xbox 360 version of GTA5 is not Backwards Compatible, you need to buy the Xbox One version

Hewever GTA 4 is Backwards compatibles.
