Groove App Not Recognizing Shared Groove Pass

I have a Groove pass on my main Live account. I added two family members to the Groove pass, but when I sign into Xbox as one of the family members, Groove does not recognize that they are part of the subscription. How can I get this to recognize that
the family has a Groove Pass?

Xbox/Groove Music Pass on Windows Phone 10 Insider Preview

Hello. Since I'm using Windows Phone 10 Insider Preview (now on 10.0.10512.1000) I'm not allowed to download music (using the new Groove App) with the context of my Xbox/Groove Music Pass active subscription. I can find the music I want on the new Store
App, but if I want to download it I have to pay. How can I use my Xbox/Groove Music Pass subscription with my WP10 phone? Thank you

Goodbye Groove Music Pass

31st December, so here we are. Such a shame Microsoft are getting rid of this awesome feature, I have been a supporter of this service for what I can recall about 7-8 years, I have seen it grow from Zune Music Pass and the Zune App, to Groove music
and what it is today, the UI of the groove music app is so visually appealing, smooth, perfect, its shame, because Spotify is 1/10th the service Groove Music Pass.

I bid you fare well Music Pass. You will be sadly missed.

Are you using the old Music app or the new Groove app. Microsoft changed from Xbox Music to Groove recently.

We know how important it is for you to use Groove Music app to play audio CD's. Based on the support article, Groove Music and Spotify: FAQ - Microsoft Support, Last January 1, 2018, the Groove Music Pass streaming service was discontinued. All the details were explicitly provided on the support article such as the downloaded music and the availability of the app for the platforms Windows, Xbox and mobile devices.

On the other hand, there is an alternative app however, based on your description, this Audio CD Player app did not recognize your CD. In that case, may we know what console are we using today? Is this Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S? Is this the same console that you once installed Groove Music app?

Hi Florian,

Thanks for coming to the forums with your questions. Have you checked Spotify to see if your music is there also? When all this occurred some music was moved to spotify. You can view the entire guide here for

Groove music and spotify.

All the music that had a match in Spotify’s catalog now appears in your Spotify library and playlists. All your purchased or uploaded non-Groove Music Pass music will remain untouched in the Windows 10 and Xbox Groove Music apps. Music you own and
that is stored locally on your hard drive or on OneDrive is untouched and will continue to be playable from your local hard drive through the Windows 10 and Xbox Groove Music apps.

Try the Spotify app and let us know.
