GPU performance at Xbox Game barr on PC

when you have task manager up front some games drop in performance as task manager is front and centre so display low usage. what game are you playing and what gpu you got.

Task manager isn't front up. It's on the second monitor. On screenshot you can see both of monitors at the same time, but at that moment the game was up front.

No, there is no possibility of an external GPU, because Xbox doesn't have any ports for it. The good news is that the Xbox version is designed specifically for Xbox, and has the performance of a high end PC.

The game performs excellently on Xbox Series X, I play it on both my relatively high end PC and on the console.

You can measure performance with new hardware, they are already doing it with the Star Swarm tech demo. The newer PC GPU's saw significant performance gains over the older GPU's because the hardware is designed to take advantage of what DX12 is bringing
to the table.

A Nvidia 900 series card may see a 150 percent gain yet a 500 series may see no more than 10 percent (comparing same gpu to gpu with DX11 and DX12). The question with the One is where will it's hardware fall into the performance increases.

When it comes to games, the CPU handles the game logic, the AI and also, crucially, draws the screen (frame by frame) and sends this information to the GPU to 'Render' those frames. CPU's don't care about screen resolutions, if a game runs poorly, first try lowering the resolution. If lowering the resolution has no effect, the poor performance is a CPU bottleneck.

A classic example of a CPU bottleneck is when the you see on a benchmark or frame rate tool that the CPU is running at 100% (or near to) and the GPU is only running at 30% utilisation. In this scenario, the CPU is running flat out sending data for the GPU to render, but it's so slow that the GPU is left waiting around, hence poor performance.

If you've got a poor system then then only way to get better performance is to drop settings upgrade or buy a better machine. If you're gaming PC is a laptop then I'm afraid upgrading beyond memory or storage won't be possible.
