Got charged multiple times on Debit Card

I was trying to buy 1 month of Xbox live to play Fortnite.

And it wouldn't let me because it kept saying my xbox live was expired. A screen kept popping up to buy more Xbox Live, for as low as $5 a month. But I clicked continue and there was different subscriptions, for 1 month $9.99. I tried buying it but it said
"logged in failed" so I assumed the transaction did not go through. So I tried again with a different card multiple times, and it kept saying "

"Your account does not have the correct permissions to access Xbox live functionality." SO I assumed the Xbox live transaction didn't go through. But little did I know, it charged my debit card and my girlfriend's debit card 5 times... (for $9.99 each time) and
the Xbox live still didn't work. I would like a refund on 4 of the Xbox Live 1-months; there's no reason I would buy 5, 1 month subscriptions of xbox live... I didn't even know you could stack them up. So ridiculous, and I cannot reach anyone on the phone,
so I am coming to the forum

i have taken my name and email off this account even got a whole new debit card but still keep getting charged and this time its 20 bucks!

This is incorrect.

Your debit card uses either MasterCard or Visa for processing(if not, then you couldn't use it on Live anyhow), in which case any purchases NOT done with a PIN are protected the same as a credit card. If you debit card is compromised and money is spent, then you just file a claim with your bank, and while they do the investigation they will reimburse any money lost.

If a PIN is used on a purchase then you will be liable, but even then not 100%, if there are criminal charges filed then the banks will work with the consumer to resolve the issues, though it can take a long time(in which case you would be with out your money).

This is exactly what's happened to me today! I was charged 0.99 multiple times to my debit card when I don't even have this debit card connected to my Microsoft account. I'm not the only one with this issue and nobody else has this debit card number as I've never used it for Microsoft or anything else because it's a new debit card. Microsoft has some explaining to do! Did you ever resolve this issue or did the charges ever disappear for you?

Unless the charge is on your account that you own then you can not dispute the charges with Microsoft. Your best option is to dispute the charges with your credit/debit card company and let them handle the dispute with Microsoft. This is what they do
as a financial institution. It's is a lot easier to dispute credit card charges rather than debit card, takes less time.

For Auto-Renews such as EA Access, or Xbox Live require a credit or debit card. (Or PayPal if you have it). The card is not charged if you cancel it in time for only 1 month to be charged.

When you purchase a subscription it's set to automatically renew and the charge is run as a recurring or pre-authorized charge. Rarely credit cards, some debit cards and MOST prepaid debit cards will not allow pre-authorized charges. You can contact your
bank and ask them to allow pre-authorized charges on that card, if they say no you will have to use a different card.
