    Got an email saying I'd requested a refund. I don't think I have. Is this a scam?


    I have been without internet for a week. Logged on today to find Xbox saying my request for a refund is being processed.

    I'm sure I haven't made any requests for a refund in the last 12 months.

    Is this a scam/phishing attempt.

    It's from " <*** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***> "

    The heading was " Thanks for contacting Microsoft Support for Xbox - DoNotEdit:7019918920 "

    And the email was this:

    Obviously I think this is pretty suspicious, considering I haven't made a request for a refund. Under what circumstances could this actually be legitimate?

    I can understand your problem and your doubt because if you are sure that you have not made a refund that is the case, but if you only received the email and nothing has been processed you can rest assured for the moment, my recommendation would be to change all the data that You already had a password, email, telephone, everything that is a form of recovery to avoid something hacked if that is why.

    Another reason why it happened was due to a problem with the platform or its error towards your account and others, so if that is the case then it is not worth worrying about at all.

    i made a refund request on 9/11/2019 10:21 PM and i bought the item on the 3rd, but i still haven't got an email.

    Hi there OrdinaryGamer

    I'd say check all the emails including the junk inbox, And when you made the refund request they should have emailed you saying they got the request with a case number ect. So if there is any problems you can always quote that to a customer service agent
    on xbox support. Normally it is rather quick to say accepted or not.

    Did you submit the refund form on the link that I have provided? If you got an email message that says you got declined for the refund request. Please make an appeal to your request by replying to the email. Explain to them the reason why you want to get a refund and why you should be eligible for it.

    Need something refunded but already hit limit?

    Just a friendly reminder though that there is a dedicated team that handles refund requests which is the refund and they can only be reached by submitting a refund request or replying to the email that was sent by them by that it would be best to reply to the email denying the refund.
    I will try replying to the email now can't believe I didn't think of that, the issue is not with the actual refund process but with the fact that it says I have used all my refunds in the year and have not received a refund this year.
