    Got a bit of an issue with my xbox's hardware


    My spare Xbox keeps turning it's self off randomly and piping the disk out by itself. It sounds like someone is spamming the buttons every time it happens. I've stripped it down (Wanted to change the awful thermal paste too) just wondering if anyone knows what part could be causing this issue whether it be the capacitive buttons on the front or the board that plugs into. Someone has had this Xbox before me and it looks as though it's be opened before I'm still investigating if anything is damaged bit it's been working for years and only now playing a tune with the power button.

    Any help is appreciated

    i got the same problem, tried all that's been suggested here. anyone have more info about this issue? is it my xbox hardware or software?

    Xbox hardware issue

    This would be a problem with the disc reader in the console possibly, if you can perform a power cycle by checking this:

    support.xbox.com/.../power-cycle-console     and see if that helps, however if you still get the same result, I would take the console back to the place of purchase to see if they can fix it or sort you out with a replacement.
