Goosebumps: The Game glitch

So I realize that I need to send an e-mail to the publisher / developer of this game, however wanted to make a post for anyone else who may be experiencing the same issue.

In this game (supposedly thanks to an update) many people including myself are experiencing a glitch where you can not get into the attic, thus preventing you from continuing the game. Yes, I'm doing it correctly, yes I've tried hard resetting the xbox
one. Yes I have created a new game save from scratch, and yes I have even uninstalled the game deleted the save files, reinstalled and started from scratch again....and nothing fixes the problem.

If anyone else has a good suggestion for me to fix this I would appreciate it. If you are also experiencing this issue, please shoot a message to the devs so we can hopefully get it fixed! Because I sure as heck am going to ask for a refund eventually
if a game simply won't play....

You mention you are doing it right but are you getting that information from a walkthrough somewhere? Prior to a Title Update - users could enter the Attic at the wrong time. To enter the attic you must solve the puzzle in the shrinking room (and it is not
backing out and re-entering the room). In order to solve the puzzle - you must have dealt with the three ghost children. So, if you have not dealt with the three Ghost Kids yet then you shouldn't have access to the Attic at this point.

Please let me know in greater detail where you are and I can try and point you in the correct direction but be aware that a lot of walkthroughs that were put up before the issue was fixed may actually be instructing you on how to enter the area via a bug
and not the actual intended way.

 

We have got rid of the three kids and still can't get into the attic

 

You need to still solve the puzzle in the room below the attic. The solution isn't to get rid of the ghost kids - that is simply a requirement to get the final item to solve the puzzle.

The solution requires you to stop all possible danger in that room. You could introduce a new threat in that room by interacting with the pipe (while using the correct tool for the job) but then you need to deal with that new danger you just unleashed. The
only way to solidify this situation is to obtain a substance from your parents room (which you could only access after dealing with the final ghost child). Hope that helps!

 

Listen, every time we go into the shrinking room, the walls are already collapsed once, how do you reset it so that when I enter it is not collapsed at all? If I put the step ladder down, I immediately get crushed with no chance to open the attic door at
all.

 

Sorry for the delayed response - are you still having trouble with this? To be clear, the room does not need to be reset. You CAN NOT enter the attic without STOPING the threat of the walls in the room. You are not supposed to just rush into the attic. There
is limited amount of objects you can interact with in the shrinking room but one combination will add in a slimy new threat. If you dealt with the three ghosts you will find you have access to another room where you can find something to solidify the newest
threat and solve the puzzle.

The solution is not to simply enter the attic fast. You must remove all threats in that room.
