Gold xbox live 12 Month Prepaid card not working

My mum bought me an xbox live 12 month gold card while I was away at college sometime ago, but I didn't want to use it because the internet there was poor. I've finally gotten around to using it now that I'm back home and when I click to accept the payment
(after putting in the code, which is the correct code) it pops up with an error code, either 80153021 or 801612fb, it varies between the two.

Basically all I could find to try was to wait 24 hours and try again, which is what I've done. I haven't been able to find any other help on the forums, though my forum searching skills aren't exactly amazing so I may have missed something.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Gold subscription does not except prepaid cards.edit

Not sure how in 2016, you don't use debit or credit cards but that's just me.

Anyway, could someone else confirm if using prepaid VISAs work or not? You could always go to gamestop or bestbuy, use your prepaid VISA card on a subscription xbox live card. That should work. Perhaps order a digital code on amazon with your prepaid VISA. I'm pretty sure they accept it.Click to expand...

Doesn't trust banks or credit card companies. Tries to use their pre-paid cards.

I fear for this person's future when they try to buy a house with no credit. Maybe they are rich and will just buy it out right with their mattress money.

As for a solution to your problem, use your prepaid card from a company you don't trust to buy a 12-month or 3-month Xbox Live Gold card from the store.

Since you've tried some of the solutions given with that error code, then the only thing left for you is contact the Xbox Support.

so you're saying if I purchase a Xbox Live gold membership prepaid card for 12 months while Xbox Live Gold Pass ultimate is enabled it'll convert those 12 months into Xbox Live Gold pass ultimate

But... using a prepaid card to add money to the microsoft account and then pay with that? Not the prepaid cards of "12 Month Xbox Live Gold Membership", I want to use the ones that add money like "Xbox Live $50 Card"

Attempting to use a prepaid xbox live gold 12 months card to renew my subscription but it wont let me. What options do I have?

Go to any retail store that sells video games/console (like Gamestop, Wal-Mart, Target etc...) and they will have Xbox Live Gold month prepaid cards.

They will look something like this...

There's a card for 3 months ($25) and 12 months ($60). They used to sell 1 month cards in stores but Microsoft got too greedy.

12 month subscriptions are not available through Xbox. There are 12 month prepaid cards for Gold sold in retailers. I'm not sure if there are 12 month cards available for Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate.
