Gold suscription problem using a prepaid card

Hello I already renewed my gold suscription using a prepaid card, however it didn't activate. I didn't get any error message and when I get to my Suscription Managing page, it says that I reddemed a one year gold membership.

Not sure how in 2016, you don't use debit or credit cards but that's just me.

Anyway, could someone else confirm if using prepaid VISAs work or not? You could always go to gamestop or bestbuy, use your prepaid VISA card on a subscription xbox live card. That should work. Perhaps order a digital code on amazon with your prepaid VISA. I'm pretty sure they accept it.Click to expand...

Doesn't trust banks or credit card companies. Tries to use their pre-paid cards.

I fear for this person's future when they try to buy a house with no credit. Maybe they are rich and will just buy it out right with their mattress money.

As for a solution to your problem, use your prepaid card from a company you don't trust to buy a 12-month or 3-month Xbox Live Gold card from the store.

I have used prepaid visa/mastercards in the past and they have worked. I never tried for a gold sub though because I would never pay full retail price for a gold sub

Sorry to hear it. Your account is showing as having a Gold membership. If you are still unable to play online then please try heading to Settings>System>Network and run a connection test. This will log your account out. When it is finished and you log
back in you should be able to use the membership.

Sony is the same way all subscription services require a renewable payment opt-in

No service allows currency to be used and prepaid currency cards do say you cannot use it for subscriptions

If you ignored the warning that's your issue you were never allowed to use points or currency for subbscriptions

That's what prepaid suscription cards are for

If you don't wan to pay full price for subscription cards you will have to shop savvy or follow the terms of use

The prepaid gift cards can only be used to purchase content for the Xbox. Gold can only be purchased with a credit card/Paypal or by purchasing a prepaid gold card.

i bought my xbox and received a 2 prepaid gold cards ad i redeemed the 6 month card i have the same problem as acetothekitten but those the prepaid gold cards count as a free membership? if so then why those the xbox come with a gold code??
