GOLD LIVE 1year subscriptions converting to 3month Ultimate

Be wary of inputting a product keycode for a 12 month Gold subscription if you still have time left on your Ultimate subscription. It will automatically convert to only 3 months of Ultimate and you will have wasted $59.99, you cannot return it to the
store and may have to contact support. It does not warn you prior to inputting the code on the console or the physical cards that are still being sold in stores. And support will not pro rate what remained of your current subscription or give back that time.
This is really unfair. If this is the case, the physical cards should be pulled from stores immediately!

But what I am saying is I would have only gotten 4 months of anything. When I input my code and checked when it expired in my account it said everything would expire in 4 months; not 12. This is what I bought. I don't know if I'm misunderstanding everyone
or everyone is misunderstanding me. 😞

But I paid for 12 months. By it converting down to 4, I would be cheated out of 8 months. I used one of the physical keycode cards for 12 months of XBOX LIVE that are still being sold in stores. I don't remember it stating it would be put down to 4
months because the company decided they wanted to phase the 12 months out. Anyway, whether I missed that or not, I would still be out the other 8 months I paid for, no?

I am sorry to know that you have experienced this issue with the subscription, I cannot know or speculate exactly what happened at your end. However, I can tell you that a notification pops up on the screen, if someone attempt to redeem Live Gold over an
active Game Pass Ultimate. And It says the following:

"Redeeming your Prepaid Xbox Live Gold 12 Month code will automatically convert to 4 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and will be added to your current Xbox Game Pass Ultimate account. By redeeming this code, you agree to this conversion. All conversions
are final; ratio subject to change."

but that is not how microsoft have implemented it. so the only way is letting gpu finish then apply, you cant just upgrade part of a sub when your already subbed to the multi package.

then if you let you sub run out then you could have applied the 12 month gold card and got the full 12 months of xbox live gold, adding a gold card to a current active GPU sub will convert, done.
