Going form Game Pass Ultimate to steam and preorder content transfer

I am currently subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate and use my PC for gaming. I am currently using game pass through the windows store and am playing gears of war 5 which offers bonus content DLC to individuals who play the game before the 16th. I
would like to confirm that, upon connecting my steam and Microsoft accounts, all of the bonus content DLC offered by playing before the 16th will transfer along with my saved games and progression should I decide to buy gears of war 5 on Steam as
I have credit on the platform.

I would also like to know what will occur of I play a game using Game Pass Ultimate, then buy the base game after my subscription expires without the DLC. Will the progression with the DLC character or campaign be saved and inaccessible or be lost due to
the lack of DLC presence and transfer issues?

Cross play and cross saves are possible between steam and windows store versions. You just can’t buy on steam then play on Xbox.

Unless Gears is different other games released on Windows Store and Steam haven't shared progress nor downloadable content.

Thanks for keeping us updated. I don't believe that any DLC content would be transferable. From what I know, along with that article you have linked, there is no mention of licenses being transferable. Only game saves. So in this case, you would have needed
to meet the conditions to get that dlc on Steam as well.
