Gift Code| Xbox One game not showing up

It's my birthday in a few months, and as a gift my grandparents got me a gift code for the game "Cooking Simulator". This afternoon, I went to microsoft.com/redeem to put in the gift code, since that was an option. Once that was done the website said that
it would automatically install on my Xbox One as long as it was on and/or had Instant-on on. I turned on my Xbox to have it install but when I went to queue, it wasn't there. I thought "ok maybe it didn't go through" so instead I reset my Xbox. I did, and
now everything has hit the fan and it still isn't showing up.

I will admit that it was my fault for restarting it and not knowing the consequences, but I still would like an explanation on why the game isn't showing up at all, even though it stated that it would automatically install.

If it automatically installed, then it should already be listed in your Games. If it didn't for some reason, check under Full Library and your Ready to Install games and you can start the install from there.

If you did this through gift codes please go to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders/ and see if they show up in there if not please contact xbox support

As far as i know you can't purchase subscriptions with gift card balance, you need a PayPal or Credit/debit card, as the purchase is a reoccurring one. You can also purchase gift cards specificly for live and game pass, just a heads up.

Once upon a time you couldn't use a Xbox gift card to purchase Xbox Gold but now you can. However, a credit/debit, paypal is needed for the reoccurring fee.
