Gift cards for money don't work

Assuming these are Xbox gift cards, purchased from an authorized retailer, you have an 800 number on the receipt to call for assistance.

If you have purchased these codes from a key reseller or unauthorized dealer, you need to take it up with them

You cannot use a gift card to buy another gift card. Such as Xbox. As it don't work that way. You have to either have physical money (like a credit card) to buy things on the Xbox store or buy an Xbox gift card in the stores.

Again, you cannot do it with a gift card

I have already tried these but they don't work. The problem is that I don't know which option to press. I don't want to use a card because I want to use my microsoft credits. I don't have a gift card number because the money is already in my account not on a gift card. I also don't have a phone number.

There's different ones though... There's prepaid ones you can buy that have a pre-set amount... Most of those don't work, and it says as much on the card. They're usually considered to be just a gift card, not an actual credit card.

I use a pre-pay type card, that you put money down on than use. It's a Visa from Money Mart, and it works great!

Xbox Gift Cards only work for the region they are purchased for. Therefore a UK £5.00 card will not work in the U.S. You would need send them the money via PayPal or a bank transfer and then they can buy a gift card in their own region.
