Gift Card Won't Work

This is to make sure you are using the correct gift card

Gift cards are region specific

So if you bought Japanese or Canadian but in the US it won't work

And ironically will cause you more problems

The balance won't show up on your account until you have the proper billing address to the region

Foreign gift cards won't work unless you have the proper regional account

If you use a French card you won't be able to use it on a UK account until you switch to French region with French billing address for example

Try calling microsoft support for billing issues.

Is the Gift card code that youre trying to redeem a 25 digit / character code?

ex: xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

I would suggest setting up a call back from an Xbox Live support agent by following the steps below. The agent would be able to check the status of the code that you're trying to redeem and and let you know why it's not working. The agent would
also be able to assist you in redeeming the code if possible.

Step 1 ----Select Xbox One

Step 2 ----Select See other options

Step 3 ----Select topic (Ex. System Update)

Step 4 ----Select "Show contact options"

sign in to your Microsoft account online, check your billing and subscriptions, make sure all your payment methods are up to date and make sure there are no restrictions such as outstanding payments. if so please put right and try your code again.

gift cards/redemption cards can not be used to pay out an outstanding balance.
