Gift Card snafu - lost credit

I chatted with a service agent, ref #:1376524006. I had $100 in account credit that has dropped to $90 a couple of days ago. As explained to me by the service agent this was due to expired credit - which wasnt mentioned to me when I paid for it. I was told
to ask for help here, so im posting here. Would appreciate your help.

Either use a vpn and pay by card, or go to the Russian MS store and buy Xbox Live Gift cards and then use the credit from them.

Payment method doesn't matter. You can use credit card, Paypal, or currency from gift cards. You won't get credit for adding a gift card to your account.

You can double check your account at http://microsoft.com to see if some did expire or if it was used. But you would need to continue working with phone or chat support since they are the only ones who handle billing issues.

I think the idea of the agent was that you could provide a one time exception and provide credits since:

1 - I aware of expiry since I had purchased the gift cards but it was out of their power.

2 - Since Ive been Gold member for 5+ years, make an exception.

Let me know if I should still follow up with the support.

Phone and chat support would be the only ones who could provide an exception since they are the only ones who handle billing issues. However, it's generally not possible to have credits readded once they've expired. If they send you to the forums, it's usually
because there is nothing else they can do. These are community based forums so most of use are fellow gamers, not support members

Is it a gift credit card by chance? I ask as most credit card companies reissue there cards much more frequent. if it is a gift card then those are pretty much hit or miss

It uses the remaining gift card credit AND THEN your credit card.
