Gift Card Redeemed from Amazon not working.

I recently purchased a virtual Xbox gift card on Amazon and redeemed it using Amazon's "redeem on Xbox.com" option. After redeeming the code, I checked my Microsoft account, and the $25 is showing up on my account (I checked through the Xbox One settings),
but when I tried to purchase Sonic Adventure 2 (listed as $9.99 plus tax on the store), my Xbox keeps telling me that I have "No valid payment options on file. Microsoft Account Balances cannot be used in this purchase channel.", which leads me to believe
that the Xbox gift card that I purchased and redeemed doesn't work on Xbox game purchases? I'm confused and want to know whether I just lost $25 because I redeemed it into my Microsoft Account.

Can you use Amazon pre-paid gift codes to pre-order games?

Yeah I just purchased a £50 gift card from Amazon and got it working.

In order to use currency on your account to purchase 360 or original Xbox one games, you would have to make the purchase on a 360 console. The store on the One does not see the Microsoft account balance as a valid payment option for those types of purchases.
Otherwise, it should work fine if you try to buy any One content.

You cannot buy Google Play gift cards with Microsoft Rewards Points as they aren't available on Microsoft Rewards or Microsoft gift cards. If you happen to have a redeemed Amazon gift card tied to your Amazon account, you may be able to just search Google
Play gift cards on Amazon and purchase it with your available Amazon credit. Using the Redeem tab on Microsoft Rewards, going to shop, and then selecting the Amazon gift card (if you have enough points) may be able to get you a Google Play gift card you are
looking for on Amazon. Please understand that may work, it is not guaranteed to work.

As another user had pointed out, you could also try and redeem your rewards points for a Walmart or Target eCard (online gift card similar to Amazon) and buy a Google Play gift card through their websites or online or in store. Those are also not guaranteed
to work but may work.

Google Play gift cards aren't currently an available reward option but there are plenty others.

The £10 must be either on a card that says "Xbox Gift Card £10" or you must purchase an Xbox digital gift card code on Amazon for £10 that you redeem here:

You can't redeem Amazon gift cards or currency in Amazon accounts for currency in your Microsoft/Xbox account - you must buy an Xbox Gift Card (or code) with that money on it.
