    So i want to buy my friend a 6 dollar gift card over xbox so she can get something for 6 dollars but im worried if i buy her a 6 dollar gift card to buy something that $5.99 if its gonna tax her on the rest of the payment

    There is xbox live game pass gift cards same with xbox live gold gift cards. Currency gift cards can't really play for subscription payments.

    What do you mean gift card? Do you mean Xbox currency card? You can't use gift cards.

    The £10 must be either on a card that says "Xbox Gift Card £10" or you must purchase an Xbox digital gift card code on Amazon for £10 that you redeem here:
    https://redeem.microsoft.com/enter

    You can't redeem Amazon gift cards or currency in Amazon accounts for currency in your Microsoft/Xbox account - you must buy an Xbox Gift Card (or code) with that money on it.

    Hello Jay!

    I would be happy to help you here. There are 2 different types of Gift cards you can buy. One gift card will give you

    Xbox live gold    . The gift cards will either be for 3 or 12 months of service. The other gift card will provide the

    Microsoft account wallet with Currency    . you can then use this currency to purchase Games or movies/TV shows. The Currency Gift cards are the go-to cards for when you do not want to add a credit or debit card to your account.

    The subscription cards will show you how many months you are purchasing on the front of the card. The currency cards will show a dollar amount on the front of the card.

    Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with redeeming the gift card on the wrong account.

    What type of gift card was it? (Currency/Subscription)

    Unfortunately, if the gift card is for Microsoft Currency you will not be able to transfer or refund. The funds will get attached to the account it was redeemed on.
