If it is just one digit that you can't quite make out, you can probably quite easily guess the unknown digit. If it is more than one digit, the only thing you'd be able to do is speak directly with Xbox Support - they may be able to help.

However, it does say on the card to take care when scratching to ensure you don't rub off any of the digits.

I've purchased xbox gift cards from this vendor other times in the past, all previous cards had a 25-character code and could be redeemed on website or console, all had a logo for Gift Card Store in the upper-left on reverse side, providing no useful contact information aside from the address for Microsoft headquarters (I assume?), and I'd predict snail mail regarding this matter would prove beyond ineffective. Regarding any damage to the code, I attempted scratching any of the 20 characters on the card to no effect, though there was apparent gray debris under the protective film between the scratch-off material and the printed card, suggesting printing error. Considering the state of this matter as illustrated by other users' replies, I won't be expecting any kind of resolution to this issue (no offense, just pessimistic), but what I would like is an answer: under what conditions could an individual who purchased a physical Xbox gift card with a misprinted/illegible code receive a replacement code from Microsoft?
