Xbox Live rewards

I am attempting to sign up for xbox live rewards with my profile on xbox.com. When I click join xbox live rewards it tells me that I need to join xbox live when obviously my account is a gold account.

I've been trying to join Xbox Live Rewards all day today and haven't had any luck. I keep getting a message telling me that I need an Xbox Live account to join. I've noticed that my gamertag doesn't show up when I sing in to the sweepstakes page.

Unfortunately, you can't join Xbox Live Rewards right now. It's strictly because you need an Xbox Live account to join Xbox Live Rewards. Just follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Connect to your Xbox One or Xbox 360

Step 2: Join Xbox Live*

Step 3: Come back and sign up for Xbox Live Rewards

If you have already taken the steps listed, please try again soon.

Yes, they have to be completed after signing up for Xbox LIVE Rewards and actually having a profile on the rewards program side. I believe what you were asking about was the 1st time marketplace purchase. That's specifically for an account that has never
ever purchased anything on Xbox LIVE and then joins the Xbox LIVE Rewards program and then makes their 1st ever purchase. They get those 100 points.

BongKaos if you read the OP he also asked " Lastly in my Xbox live rewards screen, it only says I have been a member since 12/30/2010. " This only refers to the age of the Xbox Live Rewards account and not Live tenure, so my answer IS correct. My Xbox Live
Rewards date is 12/14/2010. My Xbox Live Gold tenure is 11 years back to 07/2003. 2 totally different things and people who joined when Live Rewards was created will have similar dates.

Nothing comes up as far as recent rewards, surveys, etc. It acts as if if I've never had a rewards account. So when I click on join xbox live rewards and choose Yes I want to participate in the Xbox LIVE Rewards program. It takes me to a page that says I'm
Sorry, You need an Xbox LIVE account to join Xbox LIVE awards yaddy yaddah...etc. etc. So I go ahead and click on the go to xboxlive button. It loads up just fine and I check my status and I'm on Gold 12-month set to auto-renew on 9/28/2012.
