Getting my Ubisoft account to link to my xbox account after gamertag change

Gamertag changes have no bad effects on your profile or games, you're safe to change whenever you please . Your new gamertag will automatically appear in new games and will still be linked to EA, Ubisoft etc. No progress will be lost and the linked
accounts will automatically get the new gamertag

Did you tried checking the username/gamertag linked to your Ubisoft account?

For this go to the Ubisoft linked accounts section: https://account.ubisoft.com/account-information

And please verify this, if a different username/gamertag appears. Sadly you need to reconnect that account. Because as stated in the official Ubisoft linking other accounts FAQ:

"You can unlink your accounts at any time. However, you will only be able to re-link the same account you had originally connected to your Ubisoft account."

Ya, there is no way to relink it because the xbox icon disappears, so I have to make a new ubisoft account and link it to my xbox account? Ok, I will try this out and get back to you. But won’t making a new ubisoft account reset my progress? Edit: I have
made a new account but I don’t know how to link it to my Xbox account.

if the wrong Ubisoft account is currently linked to your Xbox account, you should unlink it before you claim the game.



To change the Ubisoft account linked to your Xbox account:



• Head to the Account Information webpage.

• Log in to the Ubisoft account currently linked to your Xbox account.

Support is available if you need to reset your password or recover access to your account.

• Scroll down to the Linked accounts section.

• Locate the Xbox tile and select Unlink.

• Follow the on-screen instructions to unlink the account.

• Return to the Xbox app for Windows PC.

• Follow the on-screen instructions to link the correct Ubisoft account to your Xbox account.

The issue is the only way to unlink the Ubisoft account to the Xbox account, you must have access to the Ubisoft account.
