I've been trying to change my gamertag for about a week now and i keep getting an error code.

I get this error code:

Hi there,

Purchasing errors can be caused by issues on the account itself. Be sure to check if your billing information is correct at
http://billing.microsoft.com and also check
http://account.microsoft.com/services for any outstanding amount issues, these need to be sorted prior to being able to make purchases.

After that try to purchase the change on both xbox console and via xbox.com

Also check that the Xbox Live account , the console and payment option all match region wise, using different regions for any of them cause issues too.

If you can't find anything wrong and it is still not working, best thing to do is to contact official Xbox Support via Phone or Microsoft Support Chat at

I've tryed all of these suggestments and I still get the same error code when I try to change my XBL gamertag.

Thanks for reaching out to us with this issue. If you are getting an error code or message when trying to change your gamertag via the console, then you may want to try to change your gamertag from a different device. Gamertags can only be changed by you
from your account and support or forums team members cannot do so for you. Our support article How to change your Xbox gamertag

I'm getting error code 80151006. This happened when I changed my gamertag on my new 360. My old gamertag and profile downloaded just fine on the new console but now that I changed it I can't download it. I've also tried to download my profile with my new
gamertag on my old console, it also will not download and I get the same error code.
