Getting error 800700e8 trying to download Chapter 2 of King's quest.

I chatted with Activision and they told me to go ahead and purchase it and it wouldn't charge me. I followed their advice and I was charged. I did make it clear to them that I owned the season pass and not the complete collection.

 

Got it working on the Xbox 360 complete collection. You need to:

1) Update the game title, happens ingame

2) Download compatibility pack 1 of 2

3) Download compatibility pack 2 of 2

4) Download King's Quest: The Complete Collection - Chapter 2: Rubble Without A Cause

After downloading all that, whether ingame, browser or console store, the game will show "Play" under chapter 2 instead of "Purchase". No need to redownload anything, as long as it's all there. Please share, playing now.

 

I've tried sending a tweet to their support account on twitter @ATVIAssist, and making a forum post on there forum under Activision support regarding the season pass version. Haven't heard anything back yet.

I see another tweet on the issue got a response: "Unfortunately, a fix is still currently being worked on at the moment. We're very sorry for any confusion or frustration"

I guess season pass version holders will need to wait for a title update to download chapter 2. At least I've got the xbox one, and complete collection version to play through first so I'm not in a rush.

 

SOLVED. I had the same issue on xbox 360.

Start game.

It will tell you you need compatibility pack 1/2 and if you want to download, say yes.

Check progress in active downloads.

When it disappears from active downloads (it took a while, even though it says like 110 kb only)

Exit game, go back in so it gives you the same message,but with compatibility pack 2/2, repeat steps above.

Go to xbox home,

games tab,

Click on "search games" square,

search "Kings Quest"

Go to "rubble without a cause"

It will give you a message saying not to download there, but if the price is free dont worry.

When done, just go back into the game.

 

Has there been any resolution? I'm in the same boat with error message 800700e8. I don't want to have to purchase them all separately after already paying for the season pass

I finally got a response on the activision support forums for the season pass issue. No time line but at least they're working on the problem.

Sorry to hear you are getting that as well. We are aware of the issue with that for Season Pass owners and we are working on a solution, but unfortunately at the moment we don't have any updates on when exactly that will be. However, please check back soon

I just checked and there's a title update available now for the season pass version, which allows chapter 2 to be download. Be care as the first time I selected available now from the chapter menu it was prompting me to pay 9.99 for it, but when I backed
out and went in it said free.

Thanks to all involved for their efforts.

 

The patch went live earlier today, chapter 2 can now be downloaded with the season pass.

Make sure it says free before confirming the download, it read 9.99 for me initially but I backed out to the main menu in the game and tried again an it read free.
