The Premium Edition upgrade will give you early access if you are using gamepass to play the game,That's the main point of the Premium Edition upgrade.

You need to have the game installed via gamepass & the upgrade installed as well & you will get early access.

When entering the Premium Edition update website, it says that it gives access to five days in advance, but if you read and pay close attention, it says that you must have the game.

Buying the starfield premium edition upgrade will not make you play early.

To play in advance you need to buy the full game in Premium edition version.
