Getting Choose another item - This in-app purchase is no longer available in Microsoft Sudoku ...

Starting this morning (28 Nov 2018) I am getting error "Choose another item" when trying to start up Microsoft Sudoku. I play this game on a daily basis, and this is the first time I have experienced this issue.

In an effort to resolve it, I have:

1. restarted my machine three times
2. uninstalled the app and re-installed it
3. done a wsreset.exe from the command prompt
4. cleared out my temp file stores
5. tried running on a different machine (same result). One machine is running build 1809 of Windows 10 Enterprise, and one is running Build 1803 of Windows 10 Pro.

On looking back through the archives of questions to the community, I see this was happening to people in relation to MS Mahjongg two years ago, which is why I followed the steps above, since that is what was recommended for them.

The steps didn't work for them at the time, but they posted "the problem has fixed itself" five days after they posted the initial issue. This would imply a problem with the app or the configuration of the MS Store when using the app - have you got the same
problem again?

We are now on 28th November, I have a perfect score so far this month, so it would be upsetting to not be able to finish the sequence off! Any guidance would be much appreciated.

P.S. the same problem is happening with MS Jigsaw, but not MS Mahjongg or MS Solitaire.

Sign is does not work on W10

I moved to Windows 10 and now I cannot sign in when starting Microsoft Sudoku.

I get the following message:

Choose another item

This in-app purchase item is no longer available in Microsoft Sudoku

Microsoft Jigsaw "Choose another item" "in-app purchase item no longer available" Can't sign in

On one of my Windows 10 computers I can't log in to Microsoft Jigsaw, I get a dialog "Choose another item" "This in-app purchase item is no longer available in Microsoft Jigsaw [CV:vk6N2amsxUKscmFq.34.2]. I have run the App troubleshooter and uninstalled
and re-installed to no avail. My laptop signs in OK to the same account.

Unfortunately this can be an internal application problem. It may be related to the way Microsoft communicates with its servers. It may be temporary or may require an update of the application. In both cases, the solution is to wait.

There is currently a
status alert for xbox live. This may be related to your problem. In this case, just wait for Microsoft to solve this problem.

I'll ply my wife with alcohol in order to minimise the steam coming from her ears (she is heavily invested in completing all puzzles for each month prior to the end of the month), but it would be great if they could fix it before the morning of 30th!!!!
