Getting charged for time playing after logging in following a period away from the game

I did not notice untill recently that when playing an event, that time was being added to my time played, after i relogged in. Why is that ? I thought it was a glitch until I saw others posting the same concerns. Today for example, I began the Free Cell
event on my ipad and logged about 38 minutes plus unknown seconds completing 13 games. I logged out and then closed the app . I logged in on my phone during lunch and played and completed the 14th game in less than 2 minutes and my time played went from
38 minutes to 5 hours and 21 minutes! That’s Outrageous! Not very happy with microsoft right now. Will not play in any further events until this is cleared up!

Issues with messages and account status?

Following on from this, my account has been showing as playing free-for-all on Carbon for a long period of time. Is there a known glitch?

Anyone else feel a little sad/nostalgic when seeing all the offline players?

Yeah I have had the same feeling from time to time. I used to play Rock band with a few friends a while back. But now we sort have drifted away from playing games together. Feels like a period of my life gone like stated above.

Same! I wasn't even playing a game, timer hadn't started.. I went to go do something and came back later, now my time is at 4 hours :O I was almost finished the whole event with only 20 mins.. not the best time I know but WTF 4 hours for having my computer

That is very odd, I have never been charged for a free game. What game was it? was it after the free time period?

My apologies for the late reply.

Please note your response and my question are in completely different directions.

When I logged into XBOX game pass for the first time I was informed that I had free Xbox game pass for 1 year. This means that there should be no charge on my credit card before April 2024. However, I have received an email from Microsoft that my credit will be charged in April 2023.

The real question is whether I have free access for 12 months or 1 month only. As per the notification that I received when I logged in, I had 12 months of free access. I understand that my credit card will be charged after end of free period, but that charge should happen in April 2024 at the end of the 12 month free period not at the end of the 1st month only.

Please check my account again prior to any response.

This is a peculiarity of Ubisoft-made titles after a certain period of time - they require you to be logged onto Uplay (and, by association, XBL) to play them, even if you're playing offline.
