Get reward points for previously purchased games?

As mentioned in the FAQ, only Rewards members are eligible for Rewards:

You can only earn Rewards once you're an Xbox Live Rewards member. Once your membership is complete, we'll begin tracking your activity and rewarding you for things like completing missions, earning MyVIP Gems, or working towards your MyVIP Star Rank
by making qualifying digital purchases in the Microsoft Store. For full details on the Rewards available, please see the Terms and Conditions.

In addition, as stated on the popup on our website, since Xbox Live Rewards is becoming Microsoft Rewards, you cannot register into our program. The representative may have been speaking about Microsoft Rewards, which is a completely separate program from
Xbox Live Rewards.

Unfortunately you were given incorrect information. The rewards program does not award credits for anything done prior to signing up. Phone/chat support do not handle the rewards program so they do not have correct information regarding it.

Point will be rewarded when you purchase but not have a game. Please visit rewards.microsoft.com to get more information how to get rewards points

That's correct, you do not receive reward points for purchasing game add-ons. You will only receive reward points for purchasing full games.

In the case of Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, the game was released on March 25, 2023. If you purchased the game before March 25, you may have received reward points. However, if you purchased the game after March 25, you will not receive reward points.

In the case of Destiny 2 Lightfall, the game will be released on August 24, 2023. If you purchase the game before August 24, you may receive reward points. However, if you purchase the game after August 24, you will not receive reward points.

If you want to make sure you receive reward points for purchasing a game, you can check the Xbox rewards page before making your purchase. The rewards page will display all games that award reward points.

Here are some tips to get reward points for purchasing games:

Buy new and popular games. New, popular games typically award more reward points than older or less popular games.

Buy games on the Xbox Store. Games purchased from the Xbox Store earn more reward points than games purchased from other stores.

Buy games with an Xbox Game Pass subscription. Games purchased with an Xbox Game Pass subscription also earn reward points.

My assumption much like other promotions within the rewards app is that it would need to be purchased clicking through the promotion and buying within the Xbox store. The terms of service does not explicitly explain this either but
since there is no way to input your console purchase as a viable means to obtain the rewards it would stand that the only way to receive the rewards points are to follow its specific link and buy a new one x within the Xbox store. This same issue has happened
with me on several occurrences with games I have recently purchased and later a reward is set for buying the game but I have no way to redeem them as I purchased the game previously and not through the rewards application.
