No one here or at support can just give you a gamertag that you want.

You can find out how to change your tag HERE but if the tag is in use somewhere else on the system then you will get four random numbers after it once you've changed it.

Please take a look at the start date of this thread Exocet Nick (back in 2011) there's no point in bringing up old threads .

Thanks to all who replied. I resolved the problem the old-fashioned Microsoft way: I switched the box and started again.

I then logged back in on my existing Microsoft Live account and it seemed to work this time.

Sea of Thieves in Alpha, and it would be linked to your account not the specific name of the gamertag. Did you change your e-mail too?
