I have a PC tower.

It started after updating the gamepad firmware, I didn’t change anything on the PC. Xbox Accessories defines it as a wireless gamepad and sees a full battery charge. Maybe there is some software to configure this automatic inclusion?

as far as I know it's not possible to install an older firmware.

I myself haven't seen any options to turn on the option that the controller turns on when a PC is (re)started.

Perhaps this could be a configuration setting on your particular PC? Do you have a PC tower or a laptop? I ask this because this isn't something I'm aware of. My Xbox One controller is connected to my PC via USB cable, and as far as I'm aware, my controller
comes on as soon as I boot into Windows. I don't have to press the Xbox button to turn on the controller manually.

As for the Accessories update, this isn't a driver update, it's a firmware update that is a applied directly to the controller. Firmware updates can not be downgraded.
