To preface: (GoW4)

I have had no other issues from the plethora of other games I've played on PC via steam/origin etc. etc. It began while playing for the first time and I noticed two of the guns sounded like Atari? (What I guess is like a very low quality conversion) I am
not a technically apt audiophile so I do not understand all the lingo and terms. My career is IT so I have observed all basic forms of trouble shooting from my own knowledge base + Crawling the web looking for similar issues. I realized there was something
totally off when I ran the benchmark and the audio sounds great directional and all but when the lightning strikes the structure it sounds like... a firework going off underwater with some wavy/worbly sound that tapers off and it repeats with the pipe structures
flying they sound like wavy metal? So I started by disabling the 7.1 with the quick off button from the turn dial. it just does straight stereo + base from what I can tell and it sounds normal but definitely lacking in range. Any help would be appreciated.

-Creative X-fi Titanium 7.1

-Razer Tiamat 7.1

Additionally I can change my audio to go out via HDMI to my HP Envy 34 and it sounds normal. (Stereo)

I have run some sound range tests and surround tests they all sound normal. Thanks again!

Hello,
You are not having difficulties of any kind, the problem is that the audio of GOW1 R sounds like this normally since it is an old game if it is what you are referring to

I don't have to think. I already know
the MixAmp takes a 7.1 signal, decodes it into 8 discrete channels, then runs it through a DSP based on Dolby Headphone techology to provide a two channel positional audio output for use with headphones.

Encode and process are two different terms when discussing audio. If you don't feel like using proper terms, find somewhere else to misinform people?

Right now only WMAPro encoded audio on the 360 is the only way to get 7.1 Otherwise it is stuck at Dolby 5.1 output and any 7.1 is just a decoder taking that 5.1 signal and using Dolby specs to emulate the side channels from the 5.1 source. So far every
7.1 headset does this and then uses just two drivers so you get a highly processed 5.1 signal to emulate 7.1 played out of normal stereo headphones. If they did add 7.1 the current set of 7.1 decoders for headphones wouldn't actually be able to handle the
signal and you would have to use 5.1 output.

An entry level setup that would sound better than any TB setup would only run you $35 after headphones, mic and console adaptor before shipping. Add 7.1 surround and you are looking at around $160 and blows away $300 TB setups. And again. This is using the
bottom of the barrel Sennheiser headphones. Somebody who actually wants to spend $300 has almost limitless options depending on preference whether it be a pair of Audio Technica ATH AD700's which are excellent for competitive shooters since they don't have
much bass or the Creative Aurvana Live headphones which are even cheaper and offer a more balanced experience.
