Gears of War 4 PC xbox one controller does not work in specific situations

Hello,

In Gears of War 4, purchased through the Xbox store. The Xbox One controller i'm using does not function when you mount a heavy weapon. For example, in the very first mission, you need to handle a heavy machine gun post to hold the enemy at bay. Every button but the fire button works like it should. So i can move, zoom, but if i try to fire the gun it only goes off once. This is very irritating and i would like to know if someone happens to know about a workaround/fix. For now i will switch to the mouse, which functions just like it should, but it is a far from ideal situation.

I'm using Windows 11 with 64 GB of ram, RTX 3090 and a 10900k with enough memory to spare on the drive the game is installed.
All drivers are as far as i know up to date.

The problem came up a couple of months ago. Since then i tried reinstalling and checking drivers etc. I actually forgot about the problem, but with the purchase of gears 5 i suddenly remembered the state of 4. I at least would like to try and be done with the campaign in 4 before i move on to the next game in the series.
A couple of years ago i also gave the game a try and if i remember correctly the game worked like it should back then.
It would be nice to be able to blame updates or Windows 11, but the problem its self is so specific that i don't even want to try an educated guess.

It would be nice not to have the mouse in mind all the time. It is quite the mood breaker.

Hey, I tried your suggestion. First started with installing the companion app. Noticed an update available for the firmware and went with that first. This turned out nothing.

After that i went with reverting, but that also turned out as doing nothing.

Atm, the firmware is once again updated to its latest release.

Well I haven't heard about this specific issue but I'll let me friends know about it. Have you tried to revert your controller's firmware and see if it makes a difference?

As long as I get my Gears of War 4 themed Xbox One S and Gears of War 4 themed Xbox Elite Controller in October on release I will be happy.

You have to purchase the digital game for it to be play any where. It does not work with game pass as you are only renting the game.

That is not true as I can play Forza Horizon 4, Gears of War 4, ReCore and Halo Wars 2 on PC with the Xbox Game Pass. Halo Wars Definitive Edition is the only Play Anywhere title which does not seems to work under Game Pass.
